State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.
Select Committee on Mining, Informational Meeting
The Senate Select Committee on Mining met Tuesday, September 18, 2012 and Thursday September 20, 2012, at the State Capitol.
Tuesday the Committee heard testimony from three invited speakers. The invited speakers included Dr. Tom Evans, Assistant Director, Wisconsin Geological Survey, Rebecca Graser, Wisconsin Program Manager, Army Corps of Engineers, and Ann Coakley Director of Bureau of Waste and Materials Management, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
Invited speakers at the Thursday meeting were Anne McCammon-Soltis, Director of the Division of Intergovernmental Affairs, Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission, James Buchen and Scott Manley representing Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce, George Meyer, Executive Director, Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, and Dave Boetcher representing the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
