State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.
The Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau (LAB) released the annual financial audit and biennial performance evaluation of the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) Division of Gaming. The audit reveals the state’s revenue from gaming averaged about $52 million a year during the past three years. During fiscal year 2011-12 gaming money was distributed as follows:
$2.3 million Division of Gaming expenditures
$25.2 million went into Wisconsin’s general fund
$24.9 million was distributed to agencies and boards that benefit Native Americans or a broader range of citizens
$161,700 went to the Department of Justice for gaming enforcement
During that same time tribal gaming revenue averaged about $1.3 billion a year.
