State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.
As summer winds down and leaves begin to change colors, Governor Walker will begin searching for the 2013 Capitol Christmas Tree. Wisconsin Department of Administration staff will meet with potential donors to find this year’s Iconic Christmas tree.
The tree is stands within the State Capitol Rotunda, displayed thought the holiday season for thousands of tourists and visitors. Would you like to be a contender and place your tree at the Capitol Rotunda?
The requirements are:
· Balsam Fir approximately 35 – 45 feet tall.
· Full branches throughout the tree, if possible. Otherwise, a second donated tree may be needed to utilize the branches for filler.
· Tree should be accessible to the necessary logging and loading equipment for removing the tree from the property. In addition, there are often media outlets or groups that like to watch the tree being harvested.
· All of the cutting, loading, and hauling expenses are to be donated.
