State Senator Mary Lazich (R-New Berlin) represents parts of four counties: Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Walworth. Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend, the town of Vernon and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.

Whereas, Jacob Peter Smith is a member of Boy Scouts of America Troop 229, and through dedication and commitment, attained the rank of Eagle; and
Whereas, Jacob Peter Smith’s Eagle Scout project included constructing benches and rehabilitating a garden, creating an outdoor worship area at Mukwonago United Church of Christ; and
Whereas, Jacob Peter Smith earned 30 merit badges, the conservation award, and served his troop in leadership positions, including Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, and Quarter Master; and
Whereas, Jacob Peter Smith is a Senior at Mukwonago High School and participates in advanced academic classes, Orchestra, FIRST Robotics Team 930, and plans to attend college to study engineering: now
Therefore, the members of the Wisconsin State Senate on the motion of Senator Mary Lazich commend Jacob Peter Smith for outstanding dedication and service to scouting. Jacob Peter Smith is further commended for successfully completing the requirements necessary to attain the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest, honorable rank awarded by the Boy Scouts of America.
