The following graduates from New Berlin earned bachelor's degrees from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in December: Amanda Burns, education with highest honors, Roseanne Dillett, psychology, Carli Gustafson, finance with honors, Rachel Kerwin, education with honors, Natalie Rose, psychology with honors, and Mara Zavadil, psychology. Also, Kristin Farrington earned a master's degree in occupational therapy.

Angela Furrer of New Berlin earned her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in December.

The following graduates from New Berlin earned bachelor's degrees from Winona State University in Minnesota in December: Emily Kluz, elementary education; Karlie Hennen, exercise and rehabilitative science; and Rachel Pirt, accounting and finance.

Katherine Dostal earned her bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa in December.

Courtney Ehlert of New Berlin earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Carthage College in Kenosha in December.

The following students made the fall semester honors lists at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay: from Muskego, Nicolette Fugarino and Shawn Lewkowski; and from New Berlin, Chad Bonis and Katelyn Mroczenski.

Amanda Parent of New Berlin, a junior at Hamline University in St. Paul, was recently inducted into Omnicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society. Parent is a member of the Hamline University Sexual Violence Prevention Task Force, a member of Students Preventing Sexual Violence, a tutor and teaching assistant for legal research and writing, and a volunteer sexual assault victim advocate. She is double majoring in criminal justice and legal studies with a minor in sociology, and she plans to pursue a law degree.


Clifford Hartmann of New Berlin, a pediatric dentist with a practice in Greenfield, was elected trustee for the Wisconsin Dental Association's seven-county southeast region. A Waukesha County Dental Society member, Hartmann is also a former trustee of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a fellow in the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists, Pierre Fauchard Academy and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Hartmann graduated from Marquette University School of Dentistry, where he also completed his pediatric residency. In addition to his private practice, he is a part-time faculty member at MU and with Children's Hospital's Pediatric Dental Residency Program.
