Lionesses to hold Champagne Breakfast

New Berlin - The New Berlin Lioness Club will hold its 33rd annual Champagne Breakfast at Holy Apostles gym, 3875 S. 159 St., from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 11.

The buffet menu will include champagne, fruit pancake rollups with vanilla sauce, scrambled eggs, hash browns, hot ham, sausage, fresh fruit, rolls and butter, desserts, juices, coffee, tea and milk. A separate serving line will be set up for those wanting seconds. The cost is $9, general in advance, $9.50 at the door. Children younger than 12, $2.50, children younger than 5 are free.

Proceeds go to the Wisconsin Lions Foundation Camp at Rosholt for children and adults with special needs.

Folded photo album to be meeting project

Muskego - The Log Cabin Quilt Guild meeting at 7 p.m. April 13 will feature a hands-on project led by guild members. The public will be welcome to help make a folded photo album.

The guild will meet at the Muskego Public Library, W16663 Janesville Road.

Girls get chance to try synchronized swimming

New Berlin - The New Berlin Synquettes a local synchronized swimming team is hosting Come and Try practices for girls ages 8 and older on Tuesdays and Thursdays in April. Synchronized swimming is a sport that combines gymnastics, swimming and dance. Girls learn figures and routines and perform in the water to music. The practices starting April 13 on Tuesdays are at New Berlin West and Thursdays at New Berlin Eisenhower from 5 to 5:45 p.m.

Session on controlling cost of funerals

New Berlin - Heritage Funeral Homes, 16880 West National Ave., will hold an informational session titled How You Can Control Funeral Costs at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. April 13. People can ask funeral-related questions in the casual, relaxed setting around the fireplace. Coffee will be served.

Friends to hold used book sale

New Berlin - The Friends of the New Berlin Library will hold a used book sale 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 17 and 1 to 4 p.m. April 18 at the library, 15105 Library Lane.

A Friends preview will be held 6 to 8 p.m. April 16.

Carnival planned at Muskego Elementary

Muskego - Muskego Elementary School will hold a school carnival from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 17 at the school, W17476 Janesville Road.

Workshop covers how to maximize memory

Muskego - The Alzheimer's Association will present a program called Maximize Your Memory at 9:30 a.m. April 21 at ProHealth Care Regency Senior Communities, S8540 Lodge Blvd. This interactive workshop will focus on the importance of brain health and fitness.

The workshop will offer information on how memory works, and what factors affect it both positively and negatively. Techniques for improving and maintaining memory through health and lifestyle choices will also be presented.

Pasta dinner fundraiser coming to Holy Apostles

New Berlin - The Holy Apostles Eighth Grade Legacy Pasta Dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. April 24 in the Holy Apostles gym, 3875 S. 159th St.

The meals will include pasta, choice of sauces, salad, garlic bread and beverage. The meal is catered by Leah's Restaurant.

Specialty chocolates from Forever Chocolate will be available for purchase.

Advance tickets are $7.50 adults, $4.50 children 6 and younger. At the door, prices will be $8 and $5. Tickets can be purchased from any Holy Apostles eighth-grade student or by calling Anne (262) 814-1955.

Carryouts are available.

Spaghetti fundraiser benefits Police Department

New Berlin - An all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatball dinner will be served as a fundraiser for the New Berlin Police Department.

The event will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. April 28 at the Regency New Berlin, 13750 W. National Ave. (enter on the Fieldpointe Drive side). The cost will be $8.50, general, $4 for ages 3 to 11, free for younger than 3. The dinner will include spumoni for dessert plus coffee and milk and salad and bread.

Holy Apostles slates spring dance

New Berlin - Holy Apostles Parish will hold a Special Dance for Special People - a dance for developmentally disabled adults at least 16 years old, at 1 p.m. May 2. Music will be provided by Dalgren's D. J. Service. There will be free refreshments and door prizes.

Baseball attire is optional. Parents or legal guardians are encouraged to attend the dance as well.

The dance will be held in the Holy Apostles Parish gymnasium, 3875 S. 159th St.

Wine tasting to benefit library friends

Muskego - The Friends of Muskego Public Library will hold its seventh annual Wine Tasting Benefit from 7 to 10 p.m. May 15, at the library, W16663 Janesville Road.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the library or online at www.ci.muskego.wi.us/library.

Consumer Beverage Center of Hales Corners will present the tasting with more than 60 wines to sample. Tres Locos, Denoon Saloon, Mama Mia's Muskego, and Ginger Bread House will provide hors d'oeuvres.

San Laurio Coffeehouse will sponsor coffee tasting.

Hanging flowers will be available.

Several local musicians will be featured as well as art and book sales.

All proceeds will go to the Friends of the Library.

Alumni sought for capsule opening

Muskego - Everyone who was a student at Muskego Elementary School in 1988 is invited to the opening of a time capsule sealed that year at the school. The school's spring music and dance program will begin at 1:30 p.m. May 28 and the time capsule is set to be opened at 2:30 p.m.

Anyone who attended Muskego Elementary and graduated from high school between 1996 and 2001 was involved in the time capsule.

Chamber sets June golf outing

Muskego - It is barely spring and the Muskego Area Chamber of Commerce has already planned its Chamber Golf Open. It will be held June 9 at the Morningstar Golfers Club, W26285 Prairieside Drive, Waukesha.
