·Bailey Steffes of New Berlin earned her bachelor's degree in political science and her certificate in criminal justice from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May. She also was inducted into the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa. Steffes has served as an intern for State Sen. Mary Lazich for two years and is chief intern with the lobbying firm of Martin Schreiber & Associates in Madison. She will continue her education at the UW Law School in the fall.

·Shawn Lewkowski of Muskego earned his bachelor's degree in human biology from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in May.

·Jacob Loechler of Muskego earned his bachelor's degree from St. Mary's University of Minnesota in Winona in May.

·Stephen Pavelko of New Berlin earned his certificate in electric guitar building and his diploma with high honors in guitar repair and building from Minnesota State College-Southeast Technical in Red Wing in May.

·Carl Stanfield of New Berlin, a biology major at Carroll University in Waukesha, is one of 10 students awarded a Pioneer Scholars grant for summer 2013. He will work on a research project titled "Lactational Exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA) Deleteriously Effects Ovarian Follicle in Maturation in Prenatal Sprague-Dawley Rats," researching toxicology and its effects on reproductive endocrinology.


· New Berlin High School senior Abigail Kunz was awarded a scholarship by Ronald McDonald House Charities, recognizing academic excellence and community involvement.
