into 2013 season
Muskego — The Muskego Water Bugs 2013 season is under way with free water ski shows at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Labor Day at Idle Isle Park on Little Muskego Lake.
The Water Bugs will tell a story of Yogi Bear and Jellystone Park, which Mayor Mooch is considering closing the park for back taxes. Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy Bear have some ideas to raise money to save the park.
The Water Bugs will showcase their world famous five-high pyramid, the nation's top scoring jump act, and national doubles champions Meghan Stone and Marty Campbell.

to celebrate Pioneer project
Muskego — A 5k run/walk and a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 8 will be part of the celebration to mark the completion of the Pioneer Drive Revitalization Project.
The ribbon-cutting will be held at Veterans Park, S8200 Racine Ave., at 9:45 a.m. right before the race.
The Muskego Pioneer 5k will start at 10 a.m. on Pioneer Drive near Veterans Park. The scenic course will take runners on Pioneer Drive and through adjacent subdivisions before finishing on the Muskego Recreation Trail in Veterans Park.
The run/walk is being presented by Muskego Health & Wellness, Animal Doctors Holistic Veterinary Complex and Horn Brothers.
The dog walk portion of this event proceeds will go to Pets for Vets, which facilitates the placement of shelter pets with military veterans.
Following the 5K there will be an awards ceremony and post-race celebration near Marx Pioneer Inn, S7808 Pioneer Drive. Bands, food, historic walks and talks, wagon rides and vendors will add to the festivities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Horn Field to Marx Pioneer Inn.

to teach swing in June
New Berlin — The Milwaukee Rebels Swing Dance Club will hold a workshop and dance June 15 at Casa di Danza, 21415 W Greenfield Ave.
An intermediate swing workshop will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. for $7. Open dance will start at 8:30 p.m. and cost $10.
The Milwaukee Rebels Swing Dance Club holds lessons and dances all over the metropolitan area.

New Berlin — The seventh annual New Berlin Junior Woman's Club National Dash, a 5K Run or a two-mile run/walk, will be held prior to the New Berlin Fourth of July parade.
The event starts at Malone Park at noon and goes down National Avenue. It will feature chip timing, a goodie bag, high-tech shirt, food and drink.
The cost is $20 for adults, $12 for children 12 and younger (including a high-tech T-shirt if registered prior to June 24). On race day, the cost is $25 and a shirt is not guaranteed. It will be free for anyone with a military ID. Pre-register online at Active.com.
Strollers will be welcome but pets should be left at home.

for Camp Invention
New Berlin — Registrations are being accepted for the weeklong Camp Invention, a program aimed at inspiring creativity and inventive thinking, to be held daily from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 8 to 12 at Ronald Reagan Elementary School, 4225 S. Calhoun Road.
The camp is open to children entering first through sixth grade.
The cost is $215.

Jammin' fill chamber
Muskego — As the snow flies, the Muskego Area Chamber of Commerce is working on this summer's big outdoor block parties, Jammin' on Janesville.
Coordinators are in the chamber office every Wednesday evening to help businesses plan their 2013 Jammin' events and marketing.
Jammin' on Janesville provides businesses three summer events to showcase their products and services to residents who get to enjoy food, music and fun activities.

Fall Harvest Art,
Craft Fair slated
New Berlin — The Fall Harvest Art and Craft Fair, sponsored by the New Berlin Junior Woman's Club, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at Ronald Reagan Elementary School, 4225 S. Calhoun Road.
More than 120 crafters will sell their creations and a bake sale and refreshments will be offered.
Admission is $2. Proceeds will be donated back to the community.
support group offered
New Berlin — A new caregiver support group sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at the New Berlin Public Library, 15105 Library Lane.
A group will provide an open forum for caregivers or family members to voice concerns and ask questions about Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.
In addition to the emotional, educational and social support provided, the meetings also will allow participants to develop problem-solving skills.
The support group also is open to all family members and there is no cost to attend.
