Free introductory class
in Argentine tango offered
New Berlin — A free Argentine tango class, followed by the regular fourth Saturday milonga dancing, with open dancing and demonstrations will be held Aug. 24.
The free class will be from 7:30 to 8 p.m. and milonga dancing until midnight at Casa di Danza, 21415 W. Greenfield Ave.
Admission is free for newcomers joining the mailing list, $10 for regular members, $5 for students with student ID.
Ride for abused children
to start, end in New Berlin
New Berlin — Quaker Steak and Lube is sponsoring the third annual "Ride Because You C.A.R.E." motorcycle ride through southern Waukesha County on Aug. 24.
About 100 motorcyclists are expected to participate in the event, which begins at 9 a.m. at Hal's Harley-Davidson, 1925 S. Moorland Road. The hour-long ride ends at Quaker Steak & Lube, 4900 S. Moorland Road, at 12:30 p.m., where the festivities continue and where nonriders can join the charitable.
The restaurant is donating refreshments and food for ride participants, and live music is being donated by the band Four on the Floor.
All proceeds will go to benefit The C.A.R.E. Center (Child Advocacy Resource and Empowerment Center) in its efforts to help victims of abuse.
Al Stigler golf outing
to benefit local charities
New Berlin — The fifth annual Al Stigler golf outing/four-person scramble will be held Aug. 29 at the New Berlin Hills golf course, 13175 W. Graham St.
Registration will start at 11 a.m. with chipping and putting contests, shotgun start at noon. Registration is $75 per person and includes greens fee, cart, gift items (including two drink tickets) and dinner.
The object of the event is to have fun while helping Stigler's favorite charities — the New Berlin Veterans Memorial Society, the New Berlin Soap Box Derby Commission and the Lions Club Camp for disabled children.

Water Bugs ski
into 2013 season
Muskego — The Muskego Water Bugs 2013 season is under way with free water ski shows at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Labor Day at Idle Isle Park on Little Muskego Lake.
The Water Bugs will tell a story of Yogi Bear and Jellystone Park.
When Mayor Mooch is considering closing the park for back taxes, Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy Bear have some ideas to raise money to save the park.
The Water Bugs will showcase their world famous five-high pyramid and the nation's top scoring jump act.
They also feature national doubles champions Meghan Stone and Marty Campbell.
Come join the fun before summer's over.
Soap Box Derby
to be held Sept. 8
New Berlin — The 49th Annual New Berlin Soap Box Derby will be held on Sept. 8.
Registration closes Aug. 1. More information is available on the New Berlin website, newberlin.org.
hosts 'refashion show'
Muskego — The sixth annual "Refashion for Life" will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at Callen Construction's Muskego Showroom and company grounds, W13131 Janesville Road.
The charity event will benefit CommonGround Ministry/Elena's House, Wauwatosa, which provides physical, spiritual, and emotional support to people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
"Refashion for Life" will feature a fashion show combining the newest looks in clothing with fashionable products for the home, including countertops, cabinetry, windows, plumbing and light fixtures, flooring, and hardware. Kohler Co. and StarMark Cabinetry will provide many of the featured home improvement and remodeling products.
In addition to the runway show, there will be a silent and voice auction featuring entertainment and sporting tickets, boutique certificates and more. Saz's Catering will provide hors d'oeuvres and desserts, with music by Mr. Lucky Light.

Fall Harvest Art,
Craft Fair slated
New Berlin — The Fall Harvest Art and Craft Fair, sponsored by the New Berlin Junior Woman's Club, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 19 at Ronald Reagan Elementary School, 4225 S. Calhoun Road.
More than 120 crafters will sell their creations and a bake sale and refreshments will be offered.
Admission is $2. Proceeds will be donated back to the community.

Lap-sitters Story Time, for children ages 2 and 3 with an adult, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesdays. Preschool Pals for children ages 4 to 6 will be at 1 p.m. Wednesdays.

support group offered
New Berlin — A new caregiver support group sponsored by the Alzheimer's Association will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the first Tuesday of the month at the New Berlin Public Library, 15105 Library Lane.
A group will provide an open forum for caregivers or family members to voice concerns and ask questions about Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia.
In addition to the emotional, educational and social support provided, the meetings also will allow participants to develop problem-solving skills.
The support group also is open to all family members and there is no cost to attend.
