Eric Schroeder seeks second School Board term
Public Forum:
It has been an honor representing our community for the past three years on the School Board. During this past term, I have used a few guiding principles when making decisions for our district. These principles include: making sure every tax dollar is being spent wisely in the classrooms to improve the education of our students; holding high standards for teachers, students and administrators; and striving to follow our district goal to be the district of choice.
Particular attention has been paid to maintaining the physical condition of our current facilities and planning for the future. I have assisted our School Board in recently approving an extensive school reroofing project completed last summer and the purchase of 57 acres of farmland on the east side of Muskego. Both of the expenditures, although significant, were solely funded using the district's savings account; no additional tax dollars were needed or utilized.
The satisfaction I have experienced as a School Board member over the past three years is indescribable. A few of the many successes we have accomplished are: the hiring of a new district superintendent, increasing the number of Advanced Placement courses at the high school, ACT test scores increased to the highest level in district history last year, maintaining the highest graduation rate in Waukesha County, the on-going process of K-12 curriculum realignment and many other academic accomplishments. Our district's mission of "every student learning, growing … succeeding" is not just a phrase, it is the path and philosophy that this school district is accomplishing.
