Snow woes start with snowplow hitting pickup
With snow floating down since early morning, Muskego police got their first call for help at 6:20 a.m. - from a Racine County snowplow driver who just hit a pickup truck on Highway 36, Police Capt. John LaTour said.
A little later, Muskego assisted two drivers who went into the ditch in the morning rush hour - one at 7:45 a.m. at Crowbar and Kelsey drives and the other eight minutes later at Martin and Lannon roads.
The roads at rush hour were snow-covered and slippery, LaTour said.
"It was slow going and pretty backed up around the high school between 7 and 7:20," he said, as more parents than usual were dropping off their children, rather than letting them drive to school.
While the morning has been fairly uneventful, LaTour predicted some spinouts later in the afternoon as the snow continues.
