Edgewood College men's basketball student-athlete Ben Wisniewski has added another award to his mantle.
The senior from New Berlin West has been named to the All-Midwest Region third team by D3Hoops.com." target="_blank">D3Hoops.com. He is the first Eagle men's basketball player to earn all-region from D3Hoops.com since the regional teams were first chosen in 2007-08.
Wisniewski led the Eagles in scoring this season averaging 15.6 points per game. He finished his career as the second all-time leading scorer in school history and first in Northern Athletics Conference history with 1,719 points.
He sunk 225 3-point baskets in his career to set another Edgewood College record. Wisniewski was a four-time all-NAC selection, being named to the first team this season after three consecutive second-team honors.
Edgewood College went 23-7 this season and won their first NCAA Division III Tournament game in school history by defeating 17th-ranked UW-River Falls 75-67 in the first round.
Edgewood College also won its first conference title since 2004-05 by winning the NAC Tournament as the third seed.
The Eagles also set a school record for victories and winning percentage in Edgewood College's NCAA era, which began when the Eagles joined in 1994-95.
