Victories in 10 events gave the Warriors a 118-67 triumph over Waukesha North in a Classic 8 Conference dual meet Jan. 10.
Patrick Walsh won both the 200 individual medley at 2 minutes, 2.54 seconds and the 500 freestyle in 4:51.23, while Jon Roberts claimed the 50 freestyle with 22.44 seconds and the 100 freestyle at 49.07.
Also winning individual events were Joe Szczupakiewicz in the 200 freestyle with 1:50.59, Liam Klotzbach in diving, Joe Paquette in the 100 butterfly at 55.92 and Thomas Stigler in the 100 breaststroke at 1:05.6.
Winning relays were Szczupakiewicz, Stigler, Walsh and Roberts in the 200 medley at 1:43.44 and Szczupakiewicz, Walsh, Allan Prichard and Roberts in the 400 freestyle with 3:27.18.
Taking second were Paquette in the 200 individual medley (2:08.63), Stigler in the 100 freestyle (53.34), Drew Borland in the 500 freestyle (5:14.47), Matt Gilson in the 100 backstroke (58.46), Clayton Cesarz in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.35) and the 200 medley relay unit of Gilson, Cesarz, Paquette and Prichard (1:46.07).
"Joe, Patrick and Jon are leading the way," head coach Larry Milton said. "Thomas, Tyler Schrank, Clayton and Allan are a good supporting group."
The Warriors next compete in the Platteville Invitational at 11 a.m. Saturday, then welcome Catholic Memorial/Waukesha South at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
"That will be a big test for us," Milton said of the South dual.
New Berlin beat Whitnall, 93-77, on Jan. 9 behind the efforts of Zach Solie and Matthew Olenchek, who each won two individual events and were part of a relay winner.
Solie won the 200 and 500 freestyles, while Olenchek took first in the 100 free and 100 backstroke. The duo also joined Taylor Petrauski and Jackson Wannamaker to win the 400 free relay.
Petrauski also finished second in the 200 free, as did Wannamaker in the 200 individual medley and the 500 free. Also taking second were Sam Nigbur in the 50 free and the 100 butterfly and Josh Hintz in the 100 breaststroke.
New Berlin tallied 296 points for fourth place in the Shorewood Invitational on Saturday, winning five events.
The winners were Solie in the 50 freestyle with 22.26 seconds and 100 freestyle at 48.95, Olenchek in the 200 freestyle with 1 minute, 47.99 seconds, the 200 medley relay of Petrauski, Olenchek, Nigbur and Solie in 1:43.25 and the 400 freestyle unit of Solie, Petrauski, Wannamaker and Olenchek at 3:24.19.
Olenchek also placed second in the 100 freestyle, right behind Solie, in 49.25. Wannamaker took fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:55.65) and the 200 freestyle team of Zach Stoltenburg, Amin Phakruddin, Nigbur and Wannamaker was also fifth (1:39.35).
WEST GIRLS BB
Claire Radtke scored 14 points to lead the Vikings to a 53-28 victory over Wauwatosa West on Friday night.
Beth Ver Haagh added 12 points and Ali Boldt six as West improved to 8-2 in the Woodland Conference West Division and 9-3 overall. The Vikings remained in third place in the division behind Pius XI (9-0) and New Berlin Eisenhower (8-1).
West had eight 3-point field goals from six different players in the game.
The Vikings visit Pius at 7:30 p.m. Friday in an attempt to get back into the division race. They then travel to West Allis Hale at 7:30 p.m. next Wednesday.
MUSKEGO GIRLS BB
A three-game winning streak for the Warriors was snapped with a 44-41 Classic 8 Conference loss to Waukesha South on Friday.
Renee Bennett tallied a game-high 15 points and Julia Keegan added 13 points, but the next-highest scorers were Sammy Schnelker and Jessica Cattani, each with four points.
The Warriors opened last week with a 66-40 non-conference triumph over Brookfield East on Jan. 8. Cattani led the way with 18 points, while Chelsey Witkowiak added 15 points and Bennett 11. Muskego grabbed a 40-20 halftime lead, then coasted.
The second round of conference play begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday with a game at Hartland Arrowhead. The Warriors will try to reverse a 56-47 loss earlier this season.
Muskego (3-4 in the Classic 8, 6-6 overall going into this week) welcomes Sussex Hamilton at 7:30 p.m. next Tuesday.
NEW BERLIN WRESTLING
The team claimed third place in the Racine Case Invitational on Saturday with 159 points.
Winning their weight classes were Emilio Gutierrez at 220 pounds and Ben Clark at heavyweight.
Gutierez went 3-0 with two pins and a victory by default, while Clark was 3-0 with two pins and a 6-2 decision.
Taking third were John McArthur (170), Tony Talatzko (182) and Spencer Stanfield (195). Coming in fourth were Jarod Clark (113), DJ Heinrich (120), Zac Nordstrom (132) and Quinn Thompson (152).
WEST BOYS BB
The Vikings fell behind 36-13 at the half, then went on to lose to Wauwatosa West, 64-43, on Friday.
Tyler Thompson led the way with 14 points, while Brett Connors and Chamika Wijenayake each had 10 points.
West played a solid first half in a non-conference game against West Allis Central at home Jan. 8, but then struggled in the third quarter and dropped a 38-35 thriller to the defending champions of the Greater Metro Conference.
The score was tied 17-17 at intermission, when the Bulldogs went on a 15-8 tear and took 32-25 lead into the final period.
Austin Fritz hit 6-of-10 from the field to lead the way with 15 points, but the next-highest scorer was Andrew Knoll with seven. Knoll and Scott Reichel each pulled down seven rebounds, while Fritz and Darin Sowinski had four each.
West, 3-8 in the Woodland Conference and 3-12 overall, welcomes Pius XI at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
