Andy Capes has been hired as the Muskego boys basketball coach, the school announced Friday. Capes, a social studies teacher at the high school, had been the boys junior varsity coach the last two seasons, as well as an assistant football coach. Prior to coming to Muskego, Capes was a basketball and football assistant coach at Cameron High School in northwestern Wisconsin. "Andy is one of our bright young stars," Muskego athletic director Scott Kugi said. "His teaching and coaching pedigree are solid as the son of former MPS teachers. His father, Terry Capes is the former Bay View football coach. "(Andy Capes) has an innate ability to connect with people and a positive, engaging personality. His enthusiasm for kids is matched by his character and integrity. It is with great pride and confidence that we welcome him on staff." Andy Capes replaces Duane Mlachnik, who resigned after one season. The Warriors went 3-18 under Mlachnik.
