Gruettner, Dunlap placed on All-American team
Jordan Gruettner and Roland Dunlap, Muskego's two-time WIAA Division 1 state champions in wrestling, have been named to the Wrestling USA Magazine's high school All-American team.
Gruettner and Dunlap were selected from wrestlers around the country for this honor.
Gruettner finished his Muskego career at 172-12 with 118 pins and finished second, first and first in three trips to state. He was named all-state three times and will play football in fall at Northern Illinois University.
Dunlap went 162-9 with 62 pins. He was fifth, third and first twice at state and was all-state four years. He will wrestle at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa, next season.
Eagles soccer team wins State Cup crown
The Croatian Eagles U-16 boys red soccer team went 3-0 to win its bracket at the Wisconsin State Cup on Memorial Day weekend.
The Eagles defeated the three-time defending state champion, 2-1, coming from behind in the second half while playing one man down. They also had to beat another team that had just defeated them four weeks ago in league play. They allowed only one goal in three games, winning by scores of 1-0 and 2-0 in addition to the 2-1 victory over the defending champion.
The Eagles played in tournaments in Las Vegas and Memphis, plus the PUMA Cup Championship and the Croatian Eagles Spring Tournament in Franklin.

Mlachnik's coach nominated for national honor
Anthony Mlachnik of Muskego, a co-founder of the local Basketball Rapid Acceleration Program (RAP) Academy, saw his former collegiate coach, Pat Miller of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater men's team, nominated for the prestigious National Coach of the Year Award.
Miller, who guided the Warhawks to the NCAA Division III national championship, lost out to Horace Broadnax of Savannah State.
Mlachnik and Scott Cook created the RAP Academy, which promotes the teaching of fundamentals to high school players, both boys and girls.
Muskego's Platow plays on champion baseball team
Sam Platow of Muskego played on the Milwaukee Angels U-13 baseball team which won back-to-back tournaments in May.
The Angels won the Waukesha Slugfest on May 18-20 and the McHenry (Ill.) Cobras Wood Bat Classic on May 26-28. The team went 5-0 in the Waukesha tourney and 4-1 in the McHenry event.
Muskego Warriors team takes Germantown crown
The Muskego Warrior U-9 baseball team collected 85 runs in claiming the championship in the eighth annual Germantown Diamond Club Memorial Day Classic.
The Warriors pushed past Menomonee Falls, 24-2; Grafton, 14-4; and Whitefish Bay, 15-12, in pool play, then defeated Norwood (Ill.), 13-10, in the semifinal and Germantown, 19-11, in the championship game.
Team members are Bailey Butler, Brett Butler, Will Foglia, Anthony Gross, Alex Hayes, Alex Jamroziak, Josh Lewitzke, Nathan Miller, Corey Plahuta, Blake Read and Ryan Toll. The coaches are Ron Schoenbach, Matt Butler, Dave Jamroziak and Greg Toll.
Former Milwaukee Brewers set Gantner-August Baseball camp
Menomonee Falls - The 11th annual Menomonee Falls Baseball Camp is set for July 16-19 at the Menomonee Falls Little League Complex.
The camp is run by former Milwaukee Brewers, Don August and Jim Gantner, and it is from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for the four days.
Ages 8-12 are on the lower fields and ages 13 and older are on the upper fields.

Teams needed for basketball boys summer league
Brookfield - Brookfield East hosts a 10-game summer basketball league on Wednesday evenings for fifth-and sixth-grade boys teams.
The league dates are June 20, 27, July 11 and 18. The league is limited to the first eight teams registered per grade level.

Free tight end camp set for June 20-21
Milwaukee - Jim Place's annual free Milwaukee Tight End Camp is from June 20 to 21 at Bradley Tech, 700 S. 4th St., Milwaukee
The camp runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. each day, and campers receive a free T-shirt and snacks. Campers should wear athletic shorts, shirts and football turf shoes.
Place is a former tight end at Ball State University and is currently a tight ends coach. The camp focuses position-specific instructions for playing tight end.
