West's Treptow makes UW-Whitewater football team

Christopher Treptow, a mathematics major from New Berlin West, has made the 2012 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team.

The Warhawks are the defending NCAA Division III national champions and have compiled a 46-game winning streak, currently the longest at any level in college football.

Treptow is a sophomore defensive back.

West's Hubert wins first singles championship

University of Indianapolis freshman men's tennis player Luke Hubert of New Berlin West won the third flight singles championship at the DePauw Fall Invitational in Greencastle, Ind., in his first collegiate event.

He opened with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Nathan Walroth of Bellarmine and Steven Pjevach of DePauw 6-1, 6-3 on Saturday. He defeated Justin Tjon of Ohio Dominican on Sunday in the championship 6-3, 6-3 for the Greyhounds.

New Berlin's Tesch on Edgewood College team

Rachel Tesch of New Berlin, a Wisconsin Lutheran graduate, is on the Edgewood College women's volleyball team this season.

Tesch is a freshman defender for Edgewood, which is coming off its first-ever Northern Athletics Conference Tournament title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2011.

RAP holds Fall Academy at West Allis Central

The Basketball RAP will be holding its 2012 Fall Academy at West Allis Central High School this month.

The academy will run Monday and Thursday nights from Sept. 24-Nov. 1. Times are 8-9 p.m. or 9-10 p.m.
