MUSKEGO GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

The Warriors' sixth straight appearance at the WIAA Division 1 State Tournament was shorter than they wanted.

Muskego fell, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 25-15, to Westosha Central in a quarterfinal match on Nov. 7 at the Resch Center in Green Bay, ending the 2013 season.

As usual, they had a balanced attack, with Brooke Gostomski collecting 10 kills, Sandra Mohr nine, Kayla Bluemel eight and Lauren Kudronowicz seven.

Morgan Kath totaled 31 assists and 11 digs, Bluemel three service aces and Michelle Fugarino 24 digs.

The Warriors put together another strong season, going 6-1 in Classic 8 Conference duals and winning the conference tournament. They were also second in both the Lancer Invitational and the Mizuno Cup Tournament.

Muskego loses seniors Bluemel, Kudronowicz, Fugarino, Jordan Wachowiak, Jaclynn Gostomski, Ginger Ingold, Brianna Witter and Martha Blanchard.

MUSKEGO BOYS VOLLEYBALL

The Warriors' season came to an end with a 25-20, 25-16, 25-17 loss to top seed New Berlin in a WIAA sectional semifinal match on Nov. 5.

Muskego, which had qualified for state in the past two seasons, could not handle the power and talent of the United squad, which won the Woodland Conference.

New Berlin went on to lose to Racine Horlick in the sectional championship dual on Nov. 7.
