Muskego - Andrija Novakovich tallied four goals and one assist as the Muskego boys soccer team blanked Watertown, 5-0, on Oct. 11 to claim a WIAA Division 1 regional championship.
Novakovich scored the first goal, then assisted Brody Kraussel on the second. He then put away the game with three more, helped by Luka Prpa on one.
Goaltender Nick Oleniczak made two saves for the Warriors, who improved to 17-5-2 with their eighth straight victory. In those eight games, they have allowed only four goals.
Muskego opened last week with a 10-0 rout of Monona Grove on Oct. 9 as Mitchel Pope scored three goals, Novakovich two and Jake Helland, Brad Pradarelli, Kraussel, Aleksandar Prpa and Michael Lafferty each one. Oleniczak and Brandon Kaebisch each played a half in goal and neither had to make a save.
The Warriors next host Mukwonago at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 in a sectional semifinal contest. They beat the Indians, 4-1, in Classic 8 Conference play this season.
If they win, they would play either Kettle Moraine or Madison LaFollette at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at home in a sectional championship contest. Kettle Moraine is the top seed, while LaFollette is the 13th seed and upset Sun Prairie and Waukesha North, both in shootouts, to advance.
Muskego fell to the Lasers, 1-0, in its first Classic 8 game in August.
