Hales Corners Lutheran Welcomes New Senior Pastor

Jan. 13, 2012

Hales Corners Lutheran Church, one of the most prominent Lutheran churches in the Milwaukee area, is proud to announce the upcoming installation of its new Senior Pastor on Saturday, January 21st at 5:30 pm.

Pastor Keith Speaks, former Senior Pastor at Fountain of Life Lutheran Church in Kernersville, North Carolina, will begin pastoral duties at HCLC in January, 2012. Pastor Keith was called to HCLC to replace retiring Senior Pastor Mike Ernst who has successfully led this thriving congregation and has joyfully served southeastern Wisconsin for the past 19 years. Pastor Mike fervently supported the mission of reaching people for Jesus Christ and sharing God’s joy with others. During his tenure, as the faith life of many church members deepened, a great number of people also came to know Christ through HCLC. Now the largest church in the history of the Missouri Synod, a noteworthy percentage of growth has been to un-churched and to people who have given up on church in the past.

Additional church activities include local and global missionary outreach such as: providing regular meals and food staples to hundreds of Milwaukee area families in need; the Ebenezer Food Pantry; Soup For the Soul program; connecting with other agencies to aid Milwaukee’s “center city”; and sending short term mission teams to Guatemala, the Czech Republic, Haiti, San Diego, etc.

As a cradle to grave ministry, HCLC will continue the church’s pledge to serve people of all ages in the Milwaukee area and beyond through its church facilities, schools, community center, senior living center, and other missionary callings. As he begins his service at HCLC, Pastor Keith is excited to grow this blessed ministry and “…to get together with others who are sold out for Christ to help make a big difference in people’s lives.”

Hales Corners Lutheran Church is looking forward to continuing its positive work in southeast Wisconsin during this transition and well into the future.
