Robertson Joins Fight Against Blood Cancers

Muskego, Wisconsin - December 15, 2009 - Aaron S. Robertson announced today that he will be participating in the friendly fundraising competition for the Wisconsin Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's title of Man of the Year for the Milwaukee region.

The LLS's Man and Woman of the Year competition is held over a ten week period each spring, and raises critical funds and awareness for such things as medical research, education and outreach, and aid to patients battling leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancers. The man and woman who raise the most funds for the local region will go on to compete in a national competition. A separate regional competition in the state will be simultaneously unfolding in the Madison area, with those top fundraisers advancing to the national competition, as well.

The 2010 Milwaukee competition will run from March 11th through May 20th.

Robertson, 26, is a 2007 graduate of Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, where he earned a major in Political Science, minors in Sociology and Philosophy, a certificate in Integrated Leadership, and a non-credit certificate for a course in entrepreneurship. During his time at Stritch, among his other accomplishments, he served as president of the student government, Model United Nations Club, and Philosophy Club, which he co-founded.

He is author of the book, Beyond Majors and G.P.A.: A Real Philosophy for College and the World Ahead, which he wrote while still in college; has been a correspondent for the Muskego Chronicle since October 2007, reporting primarily on city government news; and contributes articles on entrepreneurship, business, leadership, history, politics/society, and other topics as a freelance writer.

Robertson is co-founder and president of Intrepid Innovations Inc., a firm specializing in Web design, graphic design, Internet marketing, and consulting. The company also operates the Intrepid Networking Club for college students, recent graduates, and young professionals.

Additionally, Robertson has been a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Muskego since May 2008 and the Census Committee for the Village of Hales Corners since June 2009.

Robertson's memberships and affiliations include: Muskego Area Chamber of Commerce (Ambassador); Hales Corners Chamber of Commerce (Board member); Muskego Kiwanis Club (President); PRO Alliances; Milwaukee Area Professionals (MAPs); the Marketing/Promotion Study Group, Mayor's Task Force on Economic Development, City of Muskego; and the National Writers Union, UAW Local 1981.
